Abstract
An experimental value of 116.7 +/- 1.1 e(2)a(0)(2)E(h)(-1) for the Sta tic dipole polarizability of As-4 is deduced from the analysis of refr activity measurements in arsenic vapor. This is in close agreement wit h the theoretical result of 119.5 +/- 3.6 e(2)a(0)(2)E(h)(-1), obtaine d from ab initio finite-field many-body perturbation theory and couple d-cluster calculations.
