Abstract
Estradiol was efficiently oxidized into 6-oxo estradiol using pyridini um chlorochromate. Previously reported yields were considerably increa sed by the use of oxidizing agent adsorbed onto celite. The oxo compou nd was then transformed into the corresponding O-carboxymethyl oxime d erivative in quantitative yield.
