Abstract
A patient with chronic paranoid schizophrenia with delusions of infest ation and of grandeur type, developed polydipsia in the course of his illness which ended up in acute life-threatening water intoxication. A part from somatic causes like SIADH, which are discussed in literature , water-intoxication could psychodynamically be interpreted in the sen se of acting on delusions.
