Abstract
Mill data from Alberta Newsprint Company was used to investigate the s easonal variations in furnish properties and their relationships to pu lp and newsprint quality. Most of the chip parameters showed a seasona l variation related to the frozen state of the wood in the winter. Man y of the fibre and strength properties showed seasonal trends, which m ight be due to variations in species and chip storage times.
