Interralationship between the level of cholesterol containing circulat
ing immune complexes and intensity of chemiluminescence of lipids was
studied in blood serum from 53 patients with and in 10 subjects withou
t ischemic heart disease. Compared to subjects without ischemic heart
disease the patients had significant elevation of concentration of cho
lesterol containing circulating immune complexes and increased intensi
ty of serum chemiluminescence induced by iron ions in the presence of
peroxide, In patients with ischemic heart disease concentration of cho
lesterol containing circulating immune complexes correlated positively
with the magnitude of serum luminescence and negatively with the leve
l of high density lipoproteins, History of myocardial infarction chang
ed the direction of correlations between capacity of lipoproteins for
oxidation and content of cholesterol containing circulating immune com
plexes.
