Abstract
The gibberellin-inducible rice alpha-amylase gene, RAmy1A, was demonst rated to be sugar repressed in rice embryos and functional dissection of the promoter of RAmy1A in relation of its sugar-modulated expressio n was performed. Gibberellin-response cis-elements of GARE (TAACAAA) a nd pyrimidine box (CCTTTT) were partially involved in the sugar repres sion. (C) 1998 Federation of European Biochemical Societies.
