Inflammatory pseudotumors occur through a non-neoplastic process that
involves abnormal proliferation of spindle cells (myoblasts and fibrob
lasts) with an inflammatory cell infiltrate. Clinically, radiographica
lly, and grossly these lesions mimic malignant neoplasms but are readi
ly distinguished histologically. We report an infant who presented wit
h an inflammatory pseudotumor of his trachea that caused severe stride
