NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN APHASIA THERAPY

Some progress has been made during the last few years in the developme nt of model-based and communication-oriented treatment approaches. Imp roved statistical surveys of intervention effects established improvem ents with certain types of aphasia therapy both for defined groups of patients and in individual cases. Translating treatment effects to eve ryday life remains difficult to verify. Psychosocial burdens and post- stroke depression are new aims of treatment.
