PROSTITUTION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE RISK O F THE SEXUAL TRANSMISSION OF AIDS - ANALYSIS OF DATA FROM THE ACSF

Based on the results of the National Survey on Sexual Behaviours in Fr ance, we find that the clients are not an homogenous group in terms of socio demographics characteristics, sexual activity and in terms of p reventive behaviours. The motivation of the clients differs: for some it's one element of a diversified sexual activity, for others it's a w ay to compensate for an unsatisfactory sexual life. The ability to dis tinguish the emotional from the sexual and the diversity of their sexu al habits would permit clients to more easily integrate new preventive behaviours.
