Abstract
The present paper is a report on the synthesis and characterization of tin(II) complexes with semicarbazones and thiosemicarbazones of the t ype, Sn(SCZ)(2) or Sn(TSCZ)(2) (where SCZ(2-) and TSCZ(2-) represent t he anion of semicarbazone and thiosemicarbazone of heterocyclic ketone s, viz. acetyl pyridine, acetyl furan, acetyl thiophene and acetyl nap hthalene. An attempt has been made to suggest the coordination behavio ur of ligand towards stannous ion on the basis of IR, H-1 NMR, Sn-119 NMR and Mossbauer spectral studies.
