Abstract
Minimum network wavelength requirement design of multiwavelength all-o ptical transport networks using a genetic-algorithm (GA)/heuristic hyb rid approach is described. Improved performance (over a GA alone) and improved results (over recent heuristics) are obtained using a tool fo r optical network optimisation, modelling and design (NOMaD).
