Abstract
An efficient high-order approach to multi-dimensional problems with bo undary or interior layers is presented, It combines a coarse grid pena lty-spectral element method with a local one-dimensional asymptotic ap proximation. The solution so obtained is improved bg; numerical manipu lations on the same coarse grid. Examples of interior and boundary lay er problems are presented. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
