Je. Amaro et Tw. Donnelly, SPIN OBSERVABLES IN COINCIDENCE ELECTRON-SCATTERING FROM NUCLEI-I - REDUCED RESPONSE FUNCTIONS, Annals of physics, 263(1), 1998, pp. 56-118
A theoretical description of nucleon knockout reactions initiated by p
olarized electron scattering from polarized nuclei is presented. Expli
cit expressions for the complete set of reduced response functions (in
dependent of the polarization angle) that can be experimentally obtain
ed assuming plane waves for the electron are given in a general multip
ole expansion. The formalism is applied to the particular case of clos
ed-shell-minus-one nuclei using two models for the ejected nucleon. in
cluding the final-state interaction phenomenologically with a complex
optical potential and in the Factorized plane-wave impulse approximati
on. Relativistic effects in the kinematics and in the electromagnetic
current are incorporated throughout-specifically a new expansion of th
e electromagnetic current in powers only of the struck nucleon momentu
m is employed. Results are presented For the nucleus K-39. (C) 1998 Ac
