M. Ozolinsh et al., ELECTROOPTIC CONTROL OF SOLID-STATE LASER-RADIATION BY PLZT CERAMICS MODULATORS, Journal of the Korean Physical Society, 32, 1998, pp. 1769-1770
Small size PLZT 8.5/65/35 ceramics modulators (4x6x18 mm(3)) are used
for electrooptic extra-cavity pulse slicing of the free running Er:YAG
laser (lambda = 2.94 mu m) The rise time of the modulated pulse is 2
mu s and the decay time is 5 mu s, the halfwave voltage U-lambda/2 = 1
350 V and optical losses approximate to 40%. Q-switching of the Er:YAG
laser also is realized using PLZT 8.5/65/35 ceramics electrooptic mod
ulators. The width of a single Q-switched pulse approximate to 150 ns
and energy - not less than 5 mJ. PLZT ceramics modulators (5x5x6 mm(3)
) are used for the electrooptic attenuation of another used in medicin
e - cw Nd:YAG laser (lambda = 1.06 mu m) radiation: halfwave voltage U
-lambda/2 = 1450 V, transmittance approximate to 65%.
