Abstract
The nonlinear elastic coefficients of Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate ( KDP) were measured with a sensitive method using varying uniaxial stre ss to introduce velocity variations in this substance at room temperat ure. The time behaviour of ultrasound pulses was analyzed with a fast sampling oscilloscope. Already low stress variations below 1 MPa gave a good sensitivity.
