Yttria stabilized cubic zirconia single crystal doped with the Mn2+ io
n was grown by the Bridgman-Stockbager method using a cold container.
The electron paramagnetic resonance of Mn2+ ion in cubic single crysta
l [(ZrO2)(0.77)(Y2O3)(0.23): Mn2+] has been investigated in the temper
ature range 110 similar to 500 K TWO Mn2+ centers are originated from
the Mn2+ ions reside at Zr4+ and Y3+ ion sites from the analysis of th
ree resolved hyperfine structures. The Mn2+ ions at Zr4+ and Y3+ sites
are remotely compensated without nearby charge compensation. It turns
out that Mn2+ ions reside at cubic symmetry sites from the rotation p
attern of Mn2+ ions.
