A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF PHYSICIAN RESEARCH INTO NURSING PRACTICE

Asch's 1996 study of the role of critical care nurses in euthanasia an d assisted suicide provides an opportunity to examine the issue of phy sician inquiry into nursing practice. With out clear acknowledgment of the privileged position from which physicians practice and conduct re search, physician inquiry into nursing practice leads only to a fuller ''physician'' interpretation of nursing experience-an interpretation likely to be inaccurate and inadequate.
