Abstract
A phase transition from a high-symmetry to a low-symmetry commensurate phase through an incommensurate (IC) phase was studied in the framewo rk of the one-dimensional elastically hinged molecule model. Emphasis was given to the properties of the domain walls in the IC phase near t he lock-in transition.
