We investigated the electric and dielectric properties of Metal/Insula
tor/Metal (MIM) device using maleate copolymer LB films. The thickness
of maleate copolymer LB him measured by ellipsometry was about 27 sim
ilar to 30 Angstrom. The conductivity obtained by voltage-current char
acteritics was about 6.5 x 10(-15) S/cm. The maleate copolymer LB film
s have the property of insulator such as organic ultra-thin films. Die
lectric constant was about 5.0 similar to 6.0 and frequency dependent.
Frequency-dependent dielectric properties were due to orientation pol
arization of dipole.
