Ji. Park et al., PIEZOELECTRIC RESONANCE INVESTIGATION OF INTRINSIC-PROPERTIES OF FERROELECTRICS, Journal of the Korean Physical Society, 32, 1998, pp. 1254-1256
For the measurements of piezoelectric properties of ferroelectrics the
re are many sources which limit the measured mechanical quality factor
Q(M) to smaller values than the intrinsic ones. At the same time the
resonance frequency shifts to some extent. These include the effects o
f electrodes, electrode wires, supports holding the sample to a fixed
position in gravity and atmosphere surrounding it. We developed a meth
od which can be applied to small samples. In this method the sample is
launched upward in vacuum with a small momentary velocity and the pie
zoelectric resonance signal is detected inductively, by a coil, at the
moment of temporal slowing down of the sample near the top of its tra
jectory.
