We have studied the dielectric relaxation of Rochelle salt and ammoniu
m Rochelle salt mixed crystal, NaK1-x(NH4)(x)C4H4O6.4H(2)O, for x = 0,
0.04, 0.09, 0.28, 0.34 and 0.40 in the frequency region from 50 MHz t
o 10 GHz at temperature range between 170 K up to 290 K. It was found
that the elementary process of the relaxation observed here depends on
x. For x = 0.28, 0.34 and 0.40 the dipolar relaxation was found to be
a thermally activated process. The distribution in relaxation times o
bserved for x = 0.28, 0.34 and 0.40. This distribution could be explai
ned by distribution in the activation energy.
