Abstract
The study presents an investigation of the relationship between pathol ogical attitudes to eating and personality in clinical subjects receiv ing treatment for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Personality an d eating attitudes' were assessed. Personality was addressed in the th eoretical framework of the Big Five factor model. Correlation and hier archical regression analysis revealed a significant contribution of pe rsonality variables to eating attitudes. Neuroticism and extraversion predicted diet behaviour and bulimic behaviour. The results are discus sed in the context of recent research.
