PRAVASTATIN-INDUCED LICHENOID DRUG ERUPTION

Although drug eruptions caused by pravastatin and other lovastatin ana logs have previously been described, reports of lichenoid eruptions ar e rare. We report a patient whose lichenoid lesions developed after in itiation, resolved on discontinuation, and reappeared on rechallenge w ith pravastatin therapy. A brief review of lichenoid drug eruptions an d skin lesions due to 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitors is discussed.
