Abstract
Migraine imposes substantial burdens both on individual headache suffe rers and on society. Prevalence studies reveal that the condition affe cts about 18% of women and about 6% of men. Prevalence is highest betw een the ages of 25 and 55, during the peak productive-years; Despite t he development of new and effective treatment options, migraine remain s an underdiagnosed and undertreated condition. In this article, we re view the incidence, prevalence. and distribution of migraine and the c onditions which are comorbid with migraine. (C) 1998 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
