Abstract
The Pd phosphine complex with fullerene C-60 (eta(2)-C-60 Pd(PPh3)(2)) (I) is used as the catalyst for homogeneous and heterogeneous hydroge nation of 3,7-dimethylocta-6-en-1-yn-3-ol (dehydrolinalool) (DHL). In all cases, the triple bond of DHL is hydrogenated into the double bond in the presence of the palladium-fullerene complex. The sibunit-suppo rted complex I exhibits the highest catalytic activity, which is by an order of magnitude higher than that of the Pd-sibunit catalyst.
