As. Ioselevich, INTERACTION OF ANDERSON IMPURITIES WITH HIGH ORBITAL ANGULAR MOMENTA - NON-RKKY BEHAVIOR AND INSTABILITY OF KONDO-LATTICE, JETP letters, 67(1), 1998, pp. 83-89
The hybridization-induced interaction of Anderson impurities with orbi
tal angular momentum l is revisited. At short distances R < R-c propor
tional to(l + 1)/k(F) the interaction has antiferromagnetic sign and d
ecays as (R-c/R)(4l). At larger distances R > R-c the RKKY-like oscill
atory interaction sets in. As l increases, the system will sooner or l
ater enter the ''short-distance'' domain, where the intersite magnetic
interaction dominates over the screening processes. This means that,
contrary to previous expectations, the nonmagnetic state of the Anders
on lattice is unstable at l --> infinity. (C) 1998 American Institute
