The hydration of benzoic acid in wet benzene solution is studied from
our first results of partition investigation in two-phase system water
-benzene [1] and solubility measurement of water in benzenic phase. Ba
sing on correlation found between water and acid in benzenic phase, we
show that the monomer-dimer-timer model is quite consistent with the
hypothesis of the non constant non-H bonded water contents and monohyd
rate formation of monomer and dimer. The hydration constant of monomer
is determined; The partition coefficient of monomer, dimerization and
trimerization constants are corrected.
