Jz. Zhu et al., CONSTRUCTION OF MAXIMAL STEADY-STATE SECURITY REGIONS OF POWER-SYSTEMS USING OPTIMIZATION METHOD, Electric power systems research, 44(2), 1998, pp. 101-105
This paper proposes a new approach to construct the maximal steady-sta
te security regions of power systems using optimization. The method is
based on DC load flow. For the first time, the maximal steady-state s
ecurity region-hyperbox is directly computed through a linear programm
ing (LP) model, in which the upper and lower limits of each component
forming hyperbox are taken as unknown variables, and the objective is
to maximise the sum of each generator's power adjustment range. The pr
oposed approach is tested on the IEEE six-bus and 30-bus systems. The
calculation results and comparison show that the new method is superio
r to the extending method which is the conventional means for construc
ting maximal steady-state security regions. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science
