C. Erb et al., LATANOPROST - A NEW PROSTAGLANDIN-F2-ALPH A ANALOG IN GLAUCOMA THERAPY - A SURVEY, Klinische Monatsblatter fur Augenheilkunde, 212(1), 1998, pp. 2-12
An ideal glaucoma drug reduces intraocular pressure profoundly and lon
g-lastingly without known major side effects: Latanoprost, a new prost
aglandin F-2 alpha-analogue, indeed has these properties. However, we
need long-term experience to exclude major, clinically relevant side e
ffects. The influence of latanoprost on ocular circulation also needs
further evaluation. Nevertheless. the clinician does have a new and ve
ry potent drug to reduce intraocular pressure. Literature search by Me
