Dr. Khusnullina et al., KINETICS OF THE REACTION OF DIMETHYLDIOXIRANE WITH ADAMANTANE IN AN OXYGEN ATMOSPHERE, Kinetics and catalysis, 39(1), 1998, pp. 4-7
The consumption of dimethyldioxirane (DMDO) is examined by the spectro
photometric method with the purpose of studying the kinetics of the re
action of DMDO with adamantane (AdH) in an acetone solution at 30-50 d
egrees C. The effective first-order rate constants depend on the AdH c
oncentration and are independent of the DMDO concentration. The data o
btained agree with the radical mechanism of the process. The rate cons
tant of dimethyldioxirane decomposition to bis-oxyisopropylidene birad
ical is determined.
