Abstract
We report the existence of the type-III short-range spin correlation f ar above T-N in a single crystal of the low-carrier heavy-fermion comp ound, YbAs. The correlation lengths parallel and perpendicular to the [1, 0, 0] direction at (1, 0, 0.5) are obtained to be 2.8 and 4.5 Angs trom at 1.5 K (similar to 3 T-N), respectively.
