Abstract
Crystal-field splitting of praseodymium is observed in the dilute syst em (PrxLa1-x)Ru2Si2 (x less than or equal to 0.10). The magnetic susce ptibility and magnetization measurements show a large uniaxial magneti c anisotropy. The specific-heat measurement shows the Schottky anomaly and no enhancement for the gamma value. These experimental results in the whole measured temperature and magnetic-field range are well expl ained by the singlet-singlet crystal-field model with the crystal-held splitting of 20 +/- 1 K.
