NMR AND NQR STUDIES OF UCOAL WITH 5F-BAND METAMAGNETISM

We have carried out NMR and NQR measurements of Al-27 and Co-59 in UCo Al, in which occurs a meta-magnetic transition in a small magnetic fie ld of 0.8 T below 16 K. Al-27 NMR signal and two kinds of Co-59 NMR si gnals were observed under an external field from 2.4 to 5 T with a fix ed frequency of 40 MHZ at 77 K. The temperature dependence of the nucl ear spin-lattice relaxation rate in Co-59 NQR was also measured from 1 .4 to 100 K. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
