Using high magnetic field ESR spectroscopy we have performed resonance
measurements of LiNiO2 up to 245 GHz between 4 and 300 K. For the fir
st time we have detected separately the ESR spectra due to the Ni3+ io
ns in LiNiO2 matrix and the extra-nickel magnetic clusters. This allow
s us to make a detailed analysis of the magnetic properties of LiNiO2.
