Abstract
A crossover from ferro to antiferromagnetic ordering of rare-earth sub lattices was studied by neutron diffraction on Tb(Co1-yNiy)C-2 by vary ing the Ni-concentration y in steps from 0.0 to 1.0. The transition oc curs by the formation of modulated moment components with propagation vectors [k(x) 0 0] of varying k(x). Magnetic configurations are discus sed in terms of varying strength of the RE;KY exchange interaction. (C ) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
