ThMn12-type compounds TbFe6Al6, HoFe6Al6 and ErFe6Al6 order uniformly
around 340(10) K by forming ferromagnetic rare-earth and iron sublatti
ces, which are coupled antiparallel to each other within the tetragona
l basis plane. Individual rare earth and iron moments are analysed bet
ween 300 and 4 K. The ordering process is restricted over a wide tempe
rature range, which is explained by the existence of frozen spins. (C)
