Abstract
The compound NdMn2Ge2, has been studied by spin-echo NMR, AC susceptib ility and neutron scattering. NMR spectral lines of Mn-55, Nd-145 and Nd-143 are observed at 4.2 K. Changes in the Mn-55 spectrum with tempe rature reflect changes in the magnetic behaviour, with transitions aro und 23 and 218 K appearing at the same temperature as AC susceptibilit y peaks. Neutron-scattering measurements show that applied pressure in creases the rare-earth ordering temperature, increases the temperature dependence of the cone angle and decreases the propagation vector of the cone, but does not have the same effect on the magnetic properties as the 'chemical' pressure of Si substitution for Ge.
