Abstract
Spin fluctuations in two samples of the La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 system doped wi th 1% Fe-57 and 5% Sn were studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy. Fe subst itutes for Mn3+ and Sn for Mn4+. A charge redistribution occurs betwee n 4.2 K and T-c. The charge carrier concentration defines magnetic reg ions with different coupling constants which fluctuate with relaxation rates increasing exponentially with temperature. At similar to 0.9T(c ) both probes reveal charge localization which spreads fast in the Mn3 +/Mn4+ lattice as the temperature approaches T-c. (C) 1998 Elsevier Sc ience B.V. All rights reserved.
