Abstract
Perovskite manganites La(1-x)A(x)MnO(3) (A: Li, Na) show a metal-insul ator transition accompanied by the ferromagnetic-paramagnetic transiti on. The resistivity decreases as low as the order of 10(-3) Ohm cm at low temperatures for Na-substituted specimens. Both series of the spec imens have large magnetic moments exceeding 3 mu g/Mn, which are expec ted from the double-exchange model. A rather large magnetoresistance c hange of -12%, at room temperature, was observed for the Na-specimens. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
