Abstract
Neutron diffraction studies have been performed on single crystals of Er0.9Y0.1 and Er0.8Y0.2. Both crystals exhibit a sinusoidal spin confi guration along the c-axis at high temperatures, while at low temperatu res not a conical but a cycloidal one in the nc-plane. Magnetic struct ural properties and the phase diagram for these crystals are given. (C ) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
