Abstract
The magnetic properties of sputtered Co/Pb multilayers have been studi ed. When d(Pb) < 23 Angstrom, a perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA ) is found to increase with decreasing Pb thickness. The PMA is attrib uted mainly to the magnetocrystalline anisotropy. The observation of s pin-wave resonance, and low in-plane remanence ratio suggests the exis tence of interlayer coupling in this system. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
