Abstract
We investigate multilayered structures consisting of two Co-films sepa rated by a Cu(1 0 0)-wedge. The exchange coupling contains oscillation s with wavelengths Lambda approximate to 5.5 ML and lambda approximate to 2.4 ML. When the wedge-like structure is grown at room temperature , Lambda dominates. Growing the very same structure at 160 K strongly enhances the short-wavelength oscillations lambda, bringing the experi mental results closer to theoretical values obtained for samples with perfect geometry.
