A series of [Co90Al10(1.6 nm)/Cu](30) multilayer samples were made to
study the oscillatory interlayer coupling using a vibrating sample mag
netometer (VSM), giant magnetoresistance (GMR), surface magneto-optica
l Kerr effect (SMOKE), magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) and spectros
copic ellipsometry methods. The measured value of Delta R/R, in-plane
saturation field (H-S), MOKE and effective dielectric constant epsilon
were found to have an oscillation period of 0.9 nm as a function of t
he Cu-layer thickness. The oscillations observed in those experiments
arises from the same origin related to the interlayer coupling or quan
