Rs. Turtelli et al., MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES OF SI RICH FE100-XSIX RAPIDLY QUENCHED ALLOYS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 177, 1998, pp. 1389-1390
Crystalline Fe100-xSix (x = 12.1, 13.8, 20.0) ribbons were produced by
a rapid quenching technique. For Fe80Si20, with increasing temperatur
e, the AC-susceptibility increases and the coercivity and magnetostric
tion decrease, monotonically. However, for lower Si contents the tempe
rature dependence of the susceptibility as well as of the coercivity a
nd magnetostriction show humps at a temperature below 500 degrees C. T
his behaviour is explained by assuming that for Fe87.9Si12.1 and Fe87.
9Si13.8 a simultaneous formation of the DO3 as well as of the B2 struc
tures is possible. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
