Abstract
The influence of nonmetallic inclusions in alloys in the solid-solutio n region on macrostructure formation in directionally hardening ingots is considered. It is established that refractory nonmetallic inclusio ns of the type of titanium carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides may h ave various effects on the nucleation of new crystals when producing i ngots of columnar and monocrystalline structure from iron-based alloys .
