D. Melas et al., REAL-TIME CALCULATION OF THE DISPERSION OF AIR-POLLUTANTS FROM INDUSTRIAL STACKS USING A PERSONAL-COMPUTER, Fresenius environmental bulletin, 7(3-4), 1998, pp. 134-140
In this paper a model sq stem is presented which enables the calculati
on in real time of the dispersion of air pollutants from industrial st
acks. The model is suitable for application in nonhomogeneous terrain
and can run on a personal computer. It consists of two parts; a diagno
stic model for the calculation of the unsteady, mass-consistent flow f
ield; and a Gaussian puff model to simulate dispersion from elevated c
ontinuous point sources (industrial stacks). The model system is appli
ed to simulate dispersion from two industrial stacks in Thessaloniki a
rea, Greece.
