Jh. Lange et Kw. Thomulka, EVALUATION OF DIMETHYL METHYLPHOSPHONATE WITH SEDIMENTS, SAND AND SOIL, AND WATER USING THE VIBRIO-HARVEYI TOXICITY TEST, Fresenius environmental bulletin, 7(3-4), 1998, pp. 141-145
Toxicity of the chemical dimethyl methylphosphonate was evaluated usin
g the bioluminescent marine bacterium Vibrio harveyi with buffer and s
ediments (sand and soil). Endpoints were evaluated by bioluminescence
(counts of light). This chemical's EC50 was determined using a methodo
logy for bacterial bioluminescence toxicity testing. The chemical was
tested using volumes at both one and nine fold. Results suggest that s
ediments evaluated influence toxicity of this chemical causing both a
reduction and enhancement based on counts.
