The enhancement of the geminate ion pair dissociation probability, Del
ta q/q, caused by a photon absorption by geminate electrons in nonpola
r liquids is considered under the influence of the external electric f
ield applied. The probability enhancement is calculated numerically wi
thin the diffusion model. The value of Delta q/q is shown to decrease
with increasing external field. The effect of the electric field on De
lta q/q depends on the time interval between the instant of the electr
on generation in liquid and the instant of electron photoexcitation. I
n conclusion, suggestion is made as to how to take into account the ex
ternal electric field in the interpretation of time resolved kinetic m
easurements of the photon assisted increase of ionization quantum yiel
