Abstract
This paper focuses on the design issues for brushless de motors used i n hard disk drives. Particular design problems arising due to high ope rating speed are addressed. Effective methods for predicting electroma gnetic forces and their effects on the bearing stability are discussed . Core loss and its dependence on some of the leading design parameter s are presented in the paper.
