Abstract
This paper discusses the concept of tailoring deformation potential, p iezoelectric, and polar-optical-phonon scattering in zero-, one-, and two-dimensional elements of mesoscopic and nanoscale structures throug h the control of acoustic and optical phonon amplitudes via the engine ering of phonon modes in such structures.
